OR-T 250 Sealless Joint vs the Metal Seal

Steel industry professionals believe that pneumatic tools were the best tools to use as they lasted forever. But that is changing due to tools like the Orgapack OR-T 250 that have entered the market with a bang. It has received very favorable reviews from the industry experts for being a very user friendly tool and very durable.

This is the perfect tool for plastic strapping and runs in three variations: automatic, semi-automatic and manual. The new OR-T 250 is an improved version and it can complete about 400 applications in full charge. This tools uses a friction weld seal and seals automatically. It is ergonomically designed, light weight and easily portable.

The tool also comes with 2 lithium batteries (14.4V) and a charger. Also the OR-T 250 is the only poly banding tool that has a soft mode making it safe to strap small or fragile packages. It also has a fully adjustable tension force. In the automatic mode the tool does everything at the touch of a button. The difference between other banding tools and the OR-T 250 is that feeding the strap is very easy as its jaws open wider than the other tools. It completes the work in three seconds.

The choice of seals often depends on the type of tool or machine selected to apply it. There are four types of seals: Snap on seals that are placed over overlapping ends, thread on seals that are placed over overlapping strap ends before tensioning tool is applied, open flange seals and push type seals.

Tools using seals are generally considered more expensive when compared with combination tools that require no metal seals. Sealless combination tools use friction to weld the strap ends together to get a secure joint. There is not much difference between the sealless and a sealed metal joint. But it varies according to the type of application it is used for. The common complaint with metal joints is that it would rust if it gets exposed to the elements. But now there are options for that too, like stainless steel strapping.

Both types of tools have their own advantages and disadvantages. So the customer has to choose the tool depending on the application he wants. All the new improved tools of today are made to cater to the increasing demands of the industry. If the customer is looking for efficiency, the OR-T 250 fits the bill. It increases productivity and a safe option as it is durable and has less wear and tear.
